Dr. Patrick J. Carnes is a world-renowned expert on sex addiction and considered “The Founding Father of Sexual Addiction Therapy” (Chicago Sun). He is responsible for the development of treatment programs at The Meadows in Wickenburg, AZ and Keystone ECU in Chester, PA. With more than 30 years in the field, Dr. Carnes has been a significant contributor to the advancement of sexual addiction treatment and research. He’s written over 20 books including recovery staple ‘A Gentle Path through the Twelve Steps’, as well as ‘Out of the Shadows’ and ‘Don’t Call it Love’. Dr. Carnes is an internationally recognized pioneer and created the CSAT certification still used to train therapists around the world today. His achievements include The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH), where they present an annual “Carnes Award” to researchers and clinicians who have made exceptional contributions to the field of sexual health.
